Walking group 2 is a friendly group who enjoy a chat and a walk and is open to new members.
Walks are held on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of each month and are of about 5 miles in length, varying between 4.5 and 5.5 miles. We aim to set off at 10.00am and the finishing time is usually between 12.30 and 1.00, but it depends on the terrain and how fast we walk. Travel time to and from the start point is usually no more than 30 minutes. Lifts can be arranged and car sharing is encouraged, especially where there is a limited amount of parking at the start point
The routes may involve some inclines, include stiles to be climbed, be muddy in places and will often cross fields at some point which may contain livestock. Members should wear suitable clothing and footwear. We often call into a pub or cafe for a tea or coffee break during the walk or after it has finished, but not always. The leader of the walk will provide an indication of the type of walk, stiles, inclines etc so that members can decide if it is for them.
The success of the group is dependent on members of the group being willing to lead walks. whether that is a stroll round Dunham Massey or a ramble in the peak district.
