Crown green bowling takes place at John Leigh Park in Altrincham from the end of March to the end of September, weather permitting. There is a facility for members who do not have their own bowls to borrow a set for the afternoon. It is not exclusively U3A members who bowl at these sessions, it just a social bowling group. If you wish to play after trying it out, then you are asked to become a Friend of John Leigh Park to give you access to the bowling green, the cost is currently £5.00 per year. Please contact the group coordinator to check whether bowling is taking place on the day you wish to attend and that it will be possible to access a set of bowls if required.
